From first timers to experienced pros, illuminated badminton will provide endless entertainment for players of all ages. Whether you're playing with friends for the first time or practicing your skills, the glow of the lights brings a new dimension to play, making every rally more thrilling! Pick up a racket and ensure you never miss a shot with special illuminated shuttlecocks. All England Badminton and our Play Captains will be on hand to be your biggest cheerleader - or even your competitor if you don’t have a partner! This is a new experience, funded by our friends at Badminton England, for the inaugural Birmingham Light Festival, aimed at providing a light installation designed to get you moving.

WHAT TO EXPECT
There will be a pop up badminton net with illuminated lights around it, aiding visibility. The court will be highlighted with temporary blue and green lights, representing the colours of the Yonex All England – these will be static and not flashing, and are there to create a perimeter and add to the visuals. There will be small lights which seemingly fly above you, from the shuttlecocks in play. You may hear people running around and playing, and the noises of hitting shuttlecocks. There is street furniture available to sit on should you need to rest, or sit an view others playing. You will be warmly welcomed by our costumed Play Captains, who will show you how to play – and even challenge you to a rally, should you wish!
SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION
The equipment we have purchased for this installation will be reused in future to give more people access to sport and to as part of our re-use strategy.
